Colorado Outdoor Recreation Industry Office

A division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade

With the density of outdoor companies, the natural assets found in the state and a workforce emboldened by the outdoors, Governor Hickenlooper launched the Colorado Outdoor Recreation Industry Office (referred to as OREC) in 2015. The office is one of eleven offices in the nation that provides a central point of contact, advocacy and resources at the state level for the diverse constituents, businesses and communities that rely on the continued health of the outdoor recreation economy. Our mission is to champion industry, communities and people to come to life through Colorado’s great outdoors. We do this by focusing on Economic Development, Conservation & Stewardship, Education & Workforce Training, and Health & Wellness.
